Job Description

Are you a meticulous individual with a passion for entertainment content and a keen eye for detail? Netflix is seeking a Creative Metadata Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this ‘Official Netflix Tagger’ role, you will be instrumental in categorizing, tagging, and enriching our vast content library. Your work will directly impact how millions of subscribers discover and engage with their favorite movies and TV shows, ensuring accurate and comprehensive metadata that drives our recommendation engine and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze a wide array of film, television, and game content to identify key themes, genres, and characteristics.
  • Apply precise and consistent metadata tags according to Netflix's evolving content taxonomy and guidelines.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and cultural relevance of all assigned metadata.
  • Collaborate with content, product, and engineering teams to refine tagging strategies and tools.
  • Participate in quality control processes to maintain high standards of metadata integrity.
  • Stay informed about global content trends, cultural nuances, and evolving viewer behaviors to enhance tagging effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal tagging tools and workflows.
  • Provide constructive feedback on content and metadata policies to foster continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Deep familiarity with a broad range of entertainment content, including film, TV series, and potentially games.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Film Studies, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in metadata management, content analysis, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or digital asset management (DAM) platforms.
  • Experience with large datasets and database systems.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Knowledge of various cultural contexts and global entertainment markets.
