Job Description
As a FedEx Express Station Clerk – Professional Office Support, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Cedar Rapids station. This position involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks, supporting the station management team and field operations. You will be responsible for data entry, record keeping, handling customer inquiries, assisting with package flow, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to accuracy and professionalism to maintain our high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate data entry for shipping and receiving information, ensuring all records are up-to-date.
- Maintain organized records and filing systems, both digital and physical, for easy retrieval.
- Answer phone calls and provide professional customer service regarding shipments, services, and inquiries.
- Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing packages, including sorting, scanning, and labeling as needed.
- Support station management with various administrative tasks, report generation, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all FedEx operational policies, safety regulations, and security procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to optimize workflow and address operational challenges.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately, reconciling daily transactions.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in an administrative, clerical, or office support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or some college coursework in business administration or a related field.
- Experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Familiarity with FedEx shipping systems or similar logistics software.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- A track record of excellent attendance and reliability.
