Job Description
Are you a student with a passion for gaming and an eagle eye for detail? Garmin is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Break Game Testers for a 3-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance, working with our dynamic team to ensure our interactive applications and products are flawless. You will play a crucial role in identifying bugs, glitches, and usability issues, providing valuable feedback that directly impacts the user experience. Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases thoroughly to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in game applications and features.
- Document and report issues clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay, user interface, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure identified issues are understood and resolved.
- Perform regression testing to verify bug fixes and ensure no new issues have been introduced.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and team discussions to provide progress updates and insights.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliverables for the 3-month contract period.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled as a student in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Game Design, UX/UI, or related).
- Strong passion for video games and interactive applications across various platforms.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally.
- Basic understanding of software testing principles or a strong willingness to learn.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with different gaming genres and platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Experience in writing test cases or test reports.
- A portfolio of personal projects or active participation in gaming communities.
