Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Trial Pharmacy Assistant to join our Research & Laboratory team in Arvada, CO. This full-time, on-site position plays a critical role in supporting clinical trials by ensuring the accurate handling, preparation, and dispensing of investigational products. The ideal candidate will work closely with pharmacists, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel to maintain compliance with study protocols and regulatory guidelines. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and integrity of our clinical research programs, helping to advance new therapies from discovery to patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation, labeling, dispensing, and accountability of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) for clinical trials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of IMPs, including receipt, storage, and return/disposal, adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Perform quality control checks on pharmacy supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and calibration.
- Prepare and manage study-specific documentation related to IMP handling and dispensing logs.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel for sample collection, processing, and reconciliation related to drug administration.
- Ensure strict adherence to cold chain management and temperature monitoring for IMPs.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Assist with ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmacy supplies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with clinical study teams, investigators, and other stakeholders regarding pharmacy-related matters.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe upon hire).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital or clinical research environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, particularly in documentation and product handling.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, inventory systems).
- Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy Technology).
- Experience with clinical trial protocols and investigational product management.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable guidelines.
- Experience with pharmacy inventory management software specific to research settings.
