Job Description
Mitie Group PLC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Day Porter to join our team in Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in facilities management. As a Day Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our client’s premises, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for all occupants and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks and maintain the overall cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, and office spaces throughout the day.
- Monitor and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand towels in designated areas.
- Respond promptly to spillages, accidents, and other urgent cleaning requirements.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or reporting larger repair needs to the appropriate team.
- Act as a visible and helpful presence, assisting staff and visitors with general inquiries or directions.
- Ensure all waste and recycling bins are emptied regularly and disposed of correctly.
- Maintain clear pathways and entrances, assisting with snow removal or leaf clearance during relevant seasons.
- Conduct regular checks of premises to identify and report any security risks, damages, or hazards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Support event setup and breakdown as required, including moving furniture or equipment.
Required Skills
