Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, reliable, and looking for a flexible summer opportunity? Market Force Information is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a Summer Break Mystery Shopper. This 3-month seasonal contract role involves visiting various retail locations, restaurants, and service providers in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas. You will act as a regular customer, discreetly observing and evaluating specific aspects of the customer experience, service quality, and store environment. Your accurate and timely reports will provide invaluable insights, helping our clients enhance their customer service. This position offers a highly flexible schedule, ideal for students, educators, or anyone seeking engaging work during the summer months.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct covert visits to assigned retail locations, restaurants, or service providers.
- Observe and meticulously evaluate specific aspects of the customer experience, service quality, product presentation, and store environment, following predefined scenarios.
- Interact with staff as a typical customer, maintaining discretion and professionalism.
- Accurately and thoroughly complete detailed online reports, capturing observations and findings, within established deadlines.
- Provide constructive and objective feedback based on your experiences.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all assignments, clients, and findings.
- Adhere to all program guidelines and instructions provided for each shop to ensure data integrity.
Required Skills
- Exceptional observation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills for clear, concise, and objective reporting.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and scenarios meticulously.
- Reliable access to transportation (personal vehicle or public transit) to travel to various assigned locations.
- Consistent access to a computer or tablet with reliable internet connectivity for report submission.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and discretion.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or a similar client-facing role.
- Familiarity with various types of retail and service environments.
