Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Spa Water Quality Tech to join our maintenance team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to learn and grow in a specialized trade. As a Spa Water Quality Tech, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal chemical balance, cleanliness, and safety of our spa facilities and aquatic features. Full training will be provided, focusing on water testing, chemical application, equipment monitoring, and routine maintenance tasks. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be crucial in providing a top-tier experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily water quality tests for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other parameters in all spa and aquatic facilities.
- Accurately record test results and make necessary chemical adjustments following established safety protocols.
- Monitor and inspect spa filtration systems, pumps, heaters, and other equipment for proper functionality and potential issues.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of spa surfaces, filters, and surrounding areas.
- Assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on spa equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all chemicals and tools are stored safely and properly.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, as well as company standards.
- Report any significant equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or water quality concerns to management promptly.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in general maintenance, plumbing, or pool/spa operations (even if informal).
- Knowledge of basic water chemistry principles.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification (training can be provided if not certified).
