Job Description
Are you a motivated 16-year-old looking for your first job in a dynamic and welcoming environment? Ralphs in Torrance is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Bakery Counter team! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable customer service experience, learn about retail operations, and become an integral part of our community-focused store. You’ll be the friendly face greeting customers, helping them choose delicious baked goods, and ensuring our bakery section always looks and smells invitingly fresh. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their bakery selections.
- Accurately weigh, package, and price bakery items.
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions with precision.
- Stock and arrange bakery displays to maintain an attractive presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery counter and surrounding area.
- Assist in preparing simple bakery items like slicing bread or packaging cookies.
- Answer customer questions about products and ingredients.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient bakery operation.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus, but not required.
