Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic team in Glendale, CA. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an expert to contribute to a wide array of projects, ensuring optimal acoustic environments in various settings. You will be responsible for conducting acoustic surveys, developing noise and vibration control strategies, and providing expert advice to clients and project teams. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed acoustic surveys, measurements, and environmental noise assessments.
- Analyze data and develop sophisticated noise and vibration control solutions for architectural, environmental, and industrial projects.
- Prepare comprehensive acoustic reports, technical specifications, and design recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide expert witness testimony and support for planning applications and legal proceedings.
- Stay abreast of the latest acoustic technologies, regulations, and best practices.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the firm's knowledge base and innovation initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in acoustic consulting or related field.
- Strong proficiency with acoustic modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, Odeon, SoundPLAN).
- Expertise in noise and vibration measurement equipment and techniques.
- Thorough understanding of relevant acoustic standards, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., ASTM, ISO, ANSI).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reports and client presentations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Master's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and acoustic integration.
- Prior experience in a leadership or project management role.
- Active membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., ASA, INCE).
