Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Air Freight Handler to join our dynamic team at the Tri-Cities Airport location in Pasco, WA. This is a crucial, high-paying role involving the safe and efficient handling of air cargo, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of shipments. You will operate various material handling equipment, sort and scan packages, and contribute to a fast-paced, safety-first environment. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload air cargo from aircraft, containers, and trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Sort, scan, and organize freight according to destination and priority, ensuring proper documentation.
- Inspect cargo for damage and accurately report discrepancies.
- Operate and maintain a variety of material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and security procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and timely freight flow.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in freight handling, warehouse operations, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately read labels, manifests, and shipping documents.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an airport or air cargo environment.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and TSA security protocols.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and inventory management systems.
