Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Asset Engineer with a specialization in Mechanical Systems to join our dynamic team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing the lifecycle management of our critical mechanical assets, ensuring their reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management, to develop and implement strategies for asset performance improvement, risk mitigation, and cost optimization. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and assessments of mechanical assets and infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of asset management strategies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze asset performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the specification and evaluation of new mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal policies related to asset management.
  • Maintain accurate asset records, documentation, and performance reports.
  • Participate in capital planning processes for asset upgrades, replacements, and new installations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational staff regarding mechanical systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in asset management, maintenance, or reliability engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R) for asset performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 55000.
  • Project management experience.
