Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Director to lead our catering operations in Southend-on-Sea. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of event catering, from menu development and client liaison to operational execution and financial management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume catering environments, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering unforgettable dining experiences. This position offers visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative catering strategies to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all catering events, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and train a high-performing catering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage all financial aspects of the catering department, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
- Collaborate with culinary teams to create exciting and high-quality menus tailored to various events.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
- Actively participate in sales and marketing efforts to promote catering services and secure new business.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in catering management, preferably in a hotel or large-scale event venue.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of developing successful teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and P&L management.
- Exceptional client relationship management and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and service styles.
- Proficiency in catering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a luxury hotel brand.
- Certifications in food safety and hygiene.
- Multilingual abilities.
