Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Community Choir Conductor to lead our evening choir program in Missoula. This part-time role is perfect for a passionate musician dedicated to fostering musical talent and building community through song. The ideal candidate will possess strong conducting skills, a deep understanding of vocal pedagogy, and the ability to motivate singers of all experience levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and productive weekly evening rehearsals.
- Select diverse and appropriate musical repertoire for performances.
- Provide expert vocal coaching and guidance to choir members.
- Plan and conduct captivating performances throughout the year.
- Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of choir members.
- Cultivate an inclusive, welcoming, and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
- Collaborate effectively with University staff and local arts organizations.
- Manage all logistical aspects related to rehearsals and performances, including sheet music and attendance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in choral conducting, preferably with community or amateur groups.
