Job Description
Join FedEx Freight as a Part-time Dockworker for morning shifts in Decatur, Illinois. This role is crucial to our operations, involving the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload freight onto and off of trailers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment after proper training and certification.
- Verify freight counts and check for damage, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Stage freight for outbound trailers and organize inbound shipments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy freight frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy (reading and writing) for paperwork and labels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physical environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for morning shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, dock, or freight handling environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
