Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and precise Inventory Associate to join our FedEx team in Columbus, OH. In this critical full-time role, you will be responsible for maintaining impeccable accuracy in all aspects of inventory management, ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our distribution center. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position is vital to our supply chain integrity and requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate receiving, inspection, and processing of incoming shipments.
  • Execute precise placement of inventory items into designated storage locations.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits with extreme accuracy.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies in inventory records and physical stock, implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize handheld scanners and internal inventory management systems to track and update item locations and quantities.
  • Prepare outbound shipments, ensuring correct item picking and packaging.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, contributing to a secure workplace.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize inventory processes and resolve issues efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Proficiency in using handheld scanners and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted and heavier with assistance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, inventory, or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification a plus, but not required for initial hiring).
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.
