Job Description
Are you a current FedEx Freight employee looking to advance your career and transition into a professional driving role? FedEx Freight is offering an incredible opportunity for dedicated individuals to become Feeder Driver Associates through our fully sponsored CDL training program. We will cover the costs of your CDL school, providing you with the necessary training and support to earn your Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Upon successful completion and obtaining your CDL, you will transition into a full-time Feeder Driver position, playing a critical role in our logistics network by safely transporting freight between FedEx Freight terminals. This is a unique chance to develop valuable skills, secure a rewarding career, and grow within a globally recognized leader in the transportation industry. We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong commitment to safety and a desire to build a long-term career as a professional driver.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete a company-sponsored Class A CDL training program.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Operate various types of heavy-duty vehicles safely and efficiently after obtaining CDL.
- Transport freight between FedEx Freight terminals, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal personnel, and management.
- Handle freight with care and ensure proper securement.
Required Skills
- Current employment with FedEx Freight (any capacity).
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, dock, or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles.
- A desire for long-term career growth in the transportation industry.
