Job Description
Carvana is seeking a dedicated and professional Fleet Transition Driver with a focus on new car delivery to join our growing team in Pearland, TX. This role is crucial to our mission of providing a seamless and exceptional car buying experience by ensuring timely and safe delivery of vehicles to our customers.
As a Fleet Transition Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of newly acquired vehicles to various Carvana hubs, reconditioning centers, or directly to customer delivery locations. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to safety will be paramount in maintaining the integrity of our fleet and the satisfaction of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport new vehicles between Carvana locations, reconditioning centers, and customer delivery points.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all safety and operational standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics, and customer service teams.
- Assist with vehicle loading and unloading as needed, ensuring proper securement.
- Represent Carvana professionally during all interactions and deliveries.
- Report any vehicle damage, maintenance needs, or incidents promptly.
- Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable upon delivery.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicle types, including cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
- Excellent spatial awareness and driving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle checks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, as business needs dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in fleet operations, vehicle logistics, or professional driving.
- Experience driving vehicles with trailers or using flatbed carriers.
- Familiarity with GPS and route optimization software.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
