Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Foley Artist to join our dynamic post-production team in New Port Richey, Florida. This role is crucial in enhancing the auditory experience of our film and television productions, requiring a keen ear, creative problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of sound design principles. The ideal candidate will be adept at generating and syncing realistic and stylized sounds to picture, contributing significantly to the immersive quality of our visual content. You will work in a collaborative and inspiring environment, contributing to a diverse range of projects from concept to final mix.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Foley recording sessions, creating and synchronizing live sound effects (footsteps, props, movements) to match on-screen actions for film and television projects.
  • Collaborate closely with sound supervisors, directors, and editors to understand specific creative briefs and sonic requirements for each scene.
  • Source, create, and manipulate a wide array of props and materials to achieve desired sound textures and realism.
  • Operate professional audio recording equipment, microphones, and digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools.
  • Maintain and organize the Foley stage and extensive prop library, ensuring equipment is in excellent working order.
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Contribute to the overall sound design vision, offering creative input and solutions.
  • Ensure all recorded Foley assets are properly labeled, cataloged, and integrated into the post-production workflow.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Foley Artist or in a similar sound recording/design role in film or TV.
  • Proficiency in operating Pro Tools for recording, editing, and syncing audio.
  • Exceptional listening skills and a creative approach to sound effects generation.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, microphone techniques, and audio recording principles.
  • Ability to interpret visual cues and translate them into compelling auditory experiences.
  • Excellent sense of rhythm, timing, and synchronization.
  • Physical dexterity and resourcefulness in creating a wide range of sounds using various props and movements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Production, Film Studies, Music Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with other DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro, Nuendo).
  • Familiarity with sound libraries and asset management systems.
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating previous Foley work for film/TV projects.
