Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and meticulous Food Prep Packers to join our team in a cold room environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficient packaging of our premium food products. You will work within a temperature-controlled setting, handling various food items and preparing them for distribution, while adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards. Premium pay is offered for this specialized cold room role due to the unique work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pack and prepare food products into designated containers or packaging according to specifications.
  • Operate basic packaging machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine quality checks on products and packaging materials to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, especially within the cold room, adhering to all sanitation protocols.
  • Strictly adhere to all food safety (HACCP), hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, product quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Assist with inventory management and material handling as needed, including loading and unloading materials.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work consistently and comfortably in a cold room environment (typically 35-40°F or 2-4°C).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining product quality and safety.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 30 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food production, packaging, or a general warehouse environment.
  • Experience working in a refrigerated or cold storage setting.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP principles.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
