Job Description

DSV’s Coventry office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Aide to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to learn the intricacies of international trade, customs procedures, and supply chain management from the ground up. You will support our experienced freight forwarders, gaining hands-on experience in coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring efficient cargo movement across various modes of transport. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior freight forwarders with daily operational tasks and administrative duties.
  • Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
  • Track and trace shipments, providing updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Communicate with carriers, airlines, shipping lines, and ground transport providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems with shipment information.
  • Handle inquiries and resolve minor issues related to shipments and documentation.
  • Support the team in ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
  • Learn and adapt to new industry software and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
