Job Description
As a Game Performance Analyst focusing on Hardware & FPS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our games deliver an exceptional, smooth, and fair experience across a wide range of hardware configurations. You will dive deep into performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineering, QA, and design teams to optimize game performance, frame rates, and hardware compatibility. Your expertise will directly impact player satisfaction and competitive integrity, helping us maintain our commitment to world-class gaming experiences. This is an on-site role at our Inglewood office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed analysis of game performance data, including frame rates, GPU/CPU utilization, memory usage, and loading times, across various hardware configurations.
- Identify and diagnose performance bottlenecks related to game engines, rendering pipelines, physics, networking, and system hardware.
- Develop and implement tools and methodologies for automated performance testing and data collection.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations for performance optimizations.
- Monitor and report on performance regressions, working closely with QA to ensure fixes are validated.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest hardware technologies and industry performance best practices.
- Contribute to the development of performance targets and metrics for new and existing game features.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on performance findings for various stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Performance Analyst, QA Analyst, or Software Engineer with a strong focus on game performance.
- Deep understanding of PC hardware components (CPU, GPU, RAM, storage) and their impact on game performance.
- Proficiency with performance profiling tools (e.g., PIX, RenderDoc, Nsight, VTune, Windows Performance Analyzer).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis and automation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of what constitutes a 'good' player experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity performance optimization.
- Familiarity with large-scale data analysis platforms (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of rendering pipelines and graphics APIs (DirectX, Vulkan, OpenGL).
- Experience in a competitive gaming environment.
