Job Description
Are you a creative and passionate individual with a knack for short-form video content? YouTube is looking for a Junior Video Editor to join our dynamic content creation team. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting engaging Shorts and Reels content for various YouTube initiatives, creator spotlights, and promotional campaigns. Key Responsibilities
- Edit and assemble short-form video content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok-style videos) from raw footage, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and creative vision.
- Collaborate closely with content strategists, marketing teams, and creators to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality, impactful edits.
- Implement motion graphics, text overlays, sound design, and color correction to enhance visual appeal and storytelling.
- Manage and organize media assets, ensuring efficient workflow and version control.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in short-form video content, platform best practices, and editing techniques.
- Provide creative input and suggestions during the content development process.
- Assist with basic post-production tasks and prepare final video files for various platform specifications.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Basic understanding of motion graphics and visual effects (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
- Strong sense of pacing, timing, and storytelling through short-form video.
- Familiarity with various video formats and aspect ratios suitable for Shorts and Reels.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing short-form video editing projects (school projects or personal work acceptable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with color grading tools (e.g., DaVinci Resolve).
- Knowledge of audio editing and sound design principles.
- Familiarity with the YouTube platform and its creator ecosystem.
- Experience working in a fast-paced agency or in-house creative environment.
