Job Description

Join BayCare HomeCare as a Home Health Aide and make a significant difference in the lives of our patients in New Port Richey and surrounding Pasco County areas. In this vital role, you will provide essential personal care and support services to individuals in their homes, promoting comfort, dignity, and independence. We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individuals who are passionate about helping others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide light housekeeping tasks essential to patient's health and comfort.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, following dietary restrictions.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Support patient mobility, including transfers and ambulation, as instructed.
  • Provide companionship and engage patients in appropriate activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the patient.
  • Accurately document services provided and patient observations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Travel to patient homes within the designated service area.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate or CNA license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care (e.g., lifting, bending)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home health or a similar care setting
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Bilingual skills (especially Spanish)
