Job Description
As a Terminal Operator at our Belmar, CO facility, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our midstream terminal facilities. This critical role involves monitoring product movements, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining equipment to support our extensive pipeline and storage network. You will work within a dynamic team environment, contributing directly to the reliable flow of essential energy products that fuel communities and industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control product movements, including loading, unloading, and transfers of various liquid products (e.g., crude oil, refined products).
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on terminal equipment, including pumps, valves, tanks, and piping.
- Conduct product quality sampling and testing according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to alarms, operational upsets, and emergency situations following established procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Complete accurate shift logs, maintenance reports, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with other operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisory staff to optimize terminal operations.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and drills to enhance skills and maintain compliance.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in terminal, pipeline, refinery, or similar industrial operations.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operational procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in using HMI/SCADA systems for operational control.
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Understanding of basic fluid dynamics and process control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
- Experience with crude oil or refined products handling.
- Knowledge of DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, and hot work procedures.
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment.
