Job Description
Join Knight-Swift Transportation, a leader in the transportation industry, as an Immediate Hire Class A Driver! We are looking for dedicated and reliable Class A CDL holders ready to start their career immediately after orientation. This is an exciting full-time opportunity based out of West Valley City, UT, offering a competitive salary. As an Immediate Hire Class A Driver, you will play a crucial role in our logistics network, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods across various routes. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport goods across designated routes, ensuring on-time delivery and maintaining accurate logs.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, fleet managers, and customers.
- Ensure proper securement of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and electronic logs accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable Class A driving experience (or recent graduation from an accredited CDL school with a strong record).
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Experience with specific types of freight (e.g., dry van, reefer, flatbed).
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time delivery.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
