Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team in the Mission District of San Francisco. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and adherence to stringent safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using various testing devices.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical motors, generators, control systems, and other electrical components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide prompt, effective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior electricians or apprentices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in industrial electrical systems and controls (480V, 277V, 240V).
  • Strong understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, including troubleshooting and basic programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and relay logic.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other industrial safety protocols.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid Electrician's License (Journeyman or equivalent) relevant to California.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in Electrical Technology or a related field.
  • Experience with SCADA systems or distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., thermal imaging, vibration analysis).
  • Experience in a manufacturing, energy, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Certifications in specific control systems or equipment manufacturers.
