Job Description

Join Intermountain Health as a Janitorial Aide and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff during evening hours. This essential position supports the efficient operation of our facilities by ensuring cleanliness and orderliness, contributing directly to the overall patient experience and a healthy work environment. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to upholding our high standards of hygiene and facility presentation. This is an on-site position requiring consistent attendance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal in offices, common areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces.
  • Sanitize surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, and other areas as needed.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs to supervision promptly.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively, following all manufacturer guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by supervisory staff.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with staff and visitors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Reliability and punctuality for assigned shifts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and operating cleaning equipment for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities cleaning, especially in a professional setting.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or corporate office environment.
