Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our dynamic team in Pasco, WA. This critical role is responsible for ensuring Microsoft’s operations, products, and services comply with all relevant local, national, and international laws, regulations, and internal policies, with a particular emphasis on regulatory frameworks pertinent to the technology sector. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements into actionable compliance strategies. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies in line with evolving regulatory landscapes.
- Monitor and analyze new and existing laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to Microsoft's global operations, particularly those impacting software, cloud services, and data privacy.
- Conduct regular compliance assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams on compliance matters, fostering a culture of regulatory awareness.
- Collaborate with legal, security, and product development teams to embed compliance by design into new products and features.
- Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and examinations.
- Prepare and submit necessary regulatory reports and filings.
- Oversee the development and delivery of compliance training materials for employees across various departments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance best practices and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or audit roles within a technology company or a highly regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks impacting technology (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, export controls, anti-corruption laws).
- Proven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents and translate them into practical business requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CIPP/E, CISSP).
- Experience with compliance automation tools and technologies.
- Prior experience working directly with government agencies or regulatory bodies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft's product ecosystem and internal policies.
