Job Description

Are you passionate about the power of music to heal and connect? Aurora Health Care is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Music Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team in Milwaukee. This is a unique entry-level opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in music therapy, as comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will work under the supervision of a certified Music Therapist, assisting in the delivery of music-based interventions to patients across various departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist certified Music Therapists in planning and implementing music therapy sessions for individuals and groups.
  • Prepare and organize music therapy materials and equipment before and after sessions.
  • Engage patients in musical activities, including singing, instrument playing, movement, and listening.
  • Provide emotional support and encourage patient participation during therapy sessions.
  • Observe and document patient responses and progress under the guidance of a Music Therapist.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Basic musical aptitude (e.g., ability to sing in tune, play a simple instrument).
