Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our corporate office team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This pivotal role involves managing and promoting the health and safety of our corporate employees, ensuring a safe work environment, and facilitating employee well-being initiatives. You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, conducting health assessments, managing workers’ compensation cases, and implementing health promotion programs. This is a crucial full-time position with the added benefit of no weekend shifts, allowing for a consistent work-life balance within a professional corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and provide direct nursing care for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Manage and coordinate workers' compensation cases, including documentation, follow-up, and communication with employees, physicians, and adjusters.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion and wellness programs for corporate employees.
- Perform pre-employment health screenings, drug testing, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other federal, state, and local health and safety standards.
- Provide health education and counseling on various topics, including ergonomics, stress management, and chronic disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, and other departments to foster a healthy and safe work environment.
- Respond to medical emergencies within the corporate office setting.
- Participate in ergonomic assessments and recommend modifications to reduce workplace hazards.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or critical care nursing
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation laws
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S)
- Experience with corporate wellness program development and implementation
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
