Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious Oil Field Drivers to join our dynamic team in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. This role involves operating a variety of heavy vehicles, including tanker trucks, flatbeds, and specialty equipment, to transport essential materials and equipment to and from oil and gas well sites. Due to the nature of the work, this position includes high hazard pay and operates on a rotation schedule, ensuring both challenging work and structured time off. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work effectively in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
- Transport various materials, including liquids, solids, and specialized equipment, to and from oil and gas exploration and production sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
- Load and unload cargo safely, utilizing appropriate equipment and following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs, manifests, and other required documentation for all transportation activities.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, especially concerning hazardous materials.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, and other team members regarding transport schedules, delays, and site conditions.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles as needed.
- Be prepared for irregular hours and an on-call schedule due to the demands of oil field operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements.
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, preferably in the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, federal and state transportation laws.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
- Proficiency in performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Excellent spatial awareness and maneuvering skills for navigating challenging terrain.
- Commitment to safety and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized oilfield equipment transport (e.g., fracking equipment, well service units).
- Familiarity with specific oil and gas field operations and terminology.
- Mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle repairs and troubleshooting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
