Job Description
Join the FedEx Ground team in New Port Richey as a Part-time Freight Sorter for weekend night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work hours, a fast-paced environment, and a chance to be part of a critical supply chain operation. As a Freight Sorter, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of packages, ensuring they are accurately sorted and loaded for dispatch. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently sort packages onto correct routes and staging areas.
- Load and unload packages from trucks and trailers, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Scan packages and ensure accurate data entry using handheld devices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Identify and report damaged packages or discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily sorting and loading goals.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, carry, and place packages frequently.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Basic comprehension and communication skills in English.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for weekend night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and inventory systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
