Job Description
BrightStar Care of Wesley Chapel is seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Nanny to provide exceptional after-school care for a wonderful family. This role is perfect for someone who is energetic, organized, and dedicated to creating a safe and engaging environment for children. The primary focus will be on after-school pick-up and supervision from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on weekdays, ensuring a smooth transition from school to home and engaging children in age-appropriate activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up children from school promptly at dismissal time.
- Transport children safely to their home or to after-school activities using personal vehicle.
- Supervise and assist with homework completion, providing guidance and encouragement.
- Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for children.
- Engage children in creative play, outdoor activities, and age-appropriate learning games.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment, including light tidying up of play areas and children's belongings.
- Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any notable events.
- Administer basic first aid if needed and adhere to emergency protocols, maintaining calm and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare, particularly with school-aged children.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable, insured transportation.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and nurturing demeanor.
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to engage children in a variety of educational and recreational activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as an after-school nanny, tutor, or camp counselor.
- Background in early childhood education or child development.
- Experience caring for multiple children simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of healthy meal and snack preparation for children.
