Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physiotherapy Aide to join our dynamic private practice in Austin, TX. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a professional and supportive environment, assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be eager to learn and grow within the physical therapy field. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and enhancing the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper equipment setup before patient arrival.
- Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during treatment, reporting any concerns or changes to the supervising therapist.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, notifying appropriate staff when reordering is necessary.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and answering phones.
- Clean and maintain rehabilitation equipment and physical therapy modalities, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including taking vital signs and documenting relevant information.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs as instructed by the physical therapist.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including HIPAA regulations.
- Support physical therapists in various tasks to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and position patients safely when necessary.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) as a physiotherapy aide or similar healthcare support role.
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Aide or completion of a relevant healthcare-related program.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
