Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Remote Freight Broker Agent to join our dynamic team. This is a crucial role for individuals passionate about logistics and eager to build a successful career from anywhere. As a Remote Freight Broker Agent, you will be responsible for connecting shippers with carriers, negotiating rates, and managing the transportation process from start to finish. You will leverage our extensive network and resources to provide exceptional service and cost-effective solutions to our clients. This 100% remote position offers the flexibility to work from your home office while benefiting from the support and reputation of a global industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to understand their shipping needs.
- Source and qualify reliable carriers within our network to match freight requirements.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with both shippers and carriers to maximize profitability.
- Manage the end-to-end transportation process, including scheduling, tracking, and delivery confirmation.
- Proactively communicate with clients and carriers, providing updates and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Utilize our proprietary TMS (Transportation Management System) for quoting, booking, and tracking shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and industry developments.
Required Skills
- Proven sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn new software.
- High level of integrity and strong ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation sales.
- Established book of business or strong network of potential clients/carriers.
- Knowledge of various freight modes (TL, LTL, Intermodal, Air, Ocean).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
