Job Description

Kohl’s is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our Visual Merchandising team as a Retail Mannequin Dresser Trainee. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the art and science of visual merchandising, focusing specifically on bringing our mannequins to life. You will work closely with experienced visual merchandisers to execute compelling product presentations that highlight the latest trends and drive sales. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior visual merchandisers in dressing and undressing mannequins according to brand guidelines and seasonal directives.
- Learn and apply best practices for styling, accessorizing, and positioning mannequins to create engaging visual stories.
- Ensure all mannequin displays are well-maintained, clean, and reflect the current merchandise assortment and promotions.
- Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to prepare new arrivals and seasonal collections for display.
- Maintain a tidy and organized visual merchandising storage area, including mannequin parts and display props.
- Gain proficiency in interpreting visual merchandising guides and executing them accurately on the sales floor.
- Assist with other visual merchandising tasks as needed, such as setting up promotional signage and window displays.
- Provide feedback on display effectiveness and customer engagement to the visual merchandising team.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong interest in fashion, styling, and visual presentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and position mannequins and merchandise (up to 30 lbs).
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some basic knowledge of current fashion trends and styling techniques.
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- A portfolio or examples of personal styling, creative projects, or visual displays (optional but a plus).
