Job Description
Walmart is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Student Warehouse Hands to join our logistics team in Antioch, CA. This part-time role is perfect for students looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accurate inventory handling, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload merchandise from trucks, containers, and racks using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
- Scan and document incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Perform routine inventory counts and assist with organizing stock.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse facility.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting (even informal).
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Enrollment in a high school or college program.
