Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Technical QA Tester with a deep understanding of game development and a specialized focus on the Frostbite Engine. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of our cutting-edge games and engine features. You will work closely with development teams, identify complex technical issues, and drive solutions to enhance the player experience. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for Frostbite-powered games and engine features.
- Identify, document, and track complex technical bugs and performance issues using detailed reproduction steps and logs.
- Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and producers to understand new features and identify potential quality risks.
- Perform in-depth performance, stability, and compatibility testing across multiple platforms.
- Utilize internal tools and debuggers to analyze game and engine behavior and pinpoint root causes of issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Provide thorough and timely feedback on builds and new features.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Frostbite Engine within the QA team.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical quality assurance within the video game industry.
- Proven experience with game engines, preferably Frostbite, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to identify, reproduce, and accurately document complex technical defects.
- Familiarity with PC hardware and software configurations, console platforms (Xbox, PlayStation), and mobile devices.
- Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
- Scripting experience (e.g., Python, C#) to automate tests or analyze data.
- Experience with performance profiling tools (e.g., PIX, RenderDoc).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git).
- Previous experience working on AAA titles.
- Understanding of game development pipelines and art asset creation processes.
