Job Description
UPS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Paramedic Trainee to join our On-site Safety team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to launch a career in emergency medical services within a dynamic corporate environment. As a Trainee, you will work under the supervision of experienced medical professionals, focusing on providing immediate medical care, conducting health and safety assessments, and contributing to a proactive safety culture within our facilities. Your primary role will be to learn and assist in all aspects of on-site emergency response and health services, ensuring the highest standards of employee well-being and operational safety. This on-site position offers hands-on training and a clear path for professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing immediate first aid and emergency medical care to employees as needed.
- Learn and apply protocols for on-site medical emergencies, including injury assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
- Participate in regular safety inspections and hazard identification within UPS facilities.
- Support the implementation of health and wellness programs for employees.
- Document all medical incidents, treatments, and safety observations accurately.
- Maintain and restock medical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for response.
- Collaborate with the On-site Safety team and management to promote a culture of safety.
- Complete all required training and certifications to advance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Paramedic program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to obtain Rhode Island Paramedic licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in emergency response.
- Commitment to safety protocols and patient confidentiality.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or emergency response setting (e.g., EMT, volunteer).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Experience with industrial safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
