Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children around the world? UNICEF Canada is seeking enthusiastic and empathetic Virtual Charity Fundraisers to join our remote team. In this vital role, you will be making outbound calls to potential and existing donors, engaging them in meaningful conversations about UNICEF’s life-saving work, and inspiring them to contribute to our various programs. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals who are excellent communicators, genuinely care about humanitarian causes, and are motivated by achieving fundraising targets from the comfort of their home office. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for entry-level candidates eager to start a career in the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to engage prospective and current donors.
- Articulate UNICEF's mission, programs, and impact with clarity and passion.
- Effectively communicate fundraising goals and the importance of donor contributions.
- Build rapport and maintain positive relationships with donors.
- Process donations accurately and securely.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of donor interactions.
- Meet and exceed daily and weekly fundraising targets.
- Adhere to all call center guidelines, script adherence, and data protection policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and coaching sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong listening skills and ability to empathize with others.
- A genuine passion for humanitarian causes and child welfare.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate CRM software (training provided).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in telemarketing, sales, customer service, or fundraising.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset.
- Experience working in a remote capacity.
- Ability to handle objections and rejections gracefully.
