Job Description
We are seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented Warehouse Tally Man to join our dynamic team in Provo, Utah. This role is critical for maintaining precise inventory counts and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our fulfillment center. The successful candidate will split their time between office-based data entry and floor-based physical counting and verification, requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your meticulous attention to detail will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate physical counts of incoming and outgoing inventory on the warehouse floor.
- Verify product quantities against manifests, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for data entry, inventory adjustments, and report generation from an office setting.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in inventory counts and documentation, reporting findings to supervisors.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy within designated locations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, logistics teams, and management to resolve inventory issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack) as needed to access inventory.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in inventory counting or warehousing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks on the warehouse floor, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 49 lbs), and bending for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck) is a plus.
