Job Description
This entry-level hybrid role is perfect for an organized individual looking to start their career in warehouse and administrative operations. The Goods-In Receiving Clerk will be crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of incoming goods, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting administrative tasks within our Abbotsford distribution center. This position offers a blend of physical activity in the warehouse and administrative duties in an office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document discrepancies, damages, or shortages and report them promptly.
- Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and preparing reports.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal departments, and delivery personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or administrative role (even volunteer or casual work).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or WMS.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and verification.
