Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Larder & Fridge Organizer to join our culinary team in Derry. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of organization and hygiene within our kitchen’s larder and refrigeration units. The successful candidate will ensure all food items are stored correctly, safely, and efficiently, contributing directly to the smooth operation of our busy kitchen and strict adherence to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness of all larder and fridge areas to the highest standards.
- Implement and monitor a robust "first-in, first-out" (FIFO) system for all perishable goods.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of stock, reporting discrepancies or low stock levels promptly.
- Ensure proper labeling and dating of all food items in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures daily, taking corrective action as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as per company standards and procedures.
- Identify and discard expired or substandard products, ensuring waste is minimized.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to optimize storage solutions and workflows.
