Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Airport Ramp Agent to join our flight logistics team at the New Port Richey facility. As a Ramp Agent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft and cargo. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight, packages, and cargo onto and off aircraft, sorting facilities, and delivery vehicles.
- Operate ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, forklifts, belt loaders) safely and efficiently.
- Marshal aircraft on the ramp, guiding pilots to parking positions and assisting with pushback operations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all ground support equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp and within the cargo area.
- Comply with all company safety procedures, federal regulations (FAA), and airport security requirements.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, flight crews, and fellow team members.
- Secure cargo on aircraft and in loading areas using appropriate restraints.
- Assist with fueling and other aircraft servicing tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) regularly and maneuver any single package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance and relevant certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in an airport operations or logistics environment.
- Experience operating heavy machinery or ground support equipment.
- Forklift certification.
