Job Description

Join the XPO Logistics team in Eugene, Oregon, as an IKEA TV Bench Assembly Specialist. This role is crucial for our last-mile delivery and retail support operations, focusing on providing expert assembly services for IKEA furniture directly in customer homes or designated retail support areas. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient, and customer-satisfying assembly of various IKEA TV bench models, contributing directly to our reputation for superior service and retail partnership support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble IKEA TV benches and other flat-pack furniture items according to manufacturer specifications and instructions.
  • Perform assembly tasks efficiently and accurately, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to complete assembly within designated timeframes.
  • Conduct quality checks on assembled items to ensure they meet XPO Logistics' high standards.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers during on-site assembly, providing a positive brand experience.
  • Manage and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during assembly and customer interactions.
  • Provide clear communication regarding assembly progress or any unforeseen issues.
  • Support general retail support tasks as needed, including product handling and staging.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with furniture assembly, particularly flat-pack items (IKEA experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams accurately.
  • Proficiency with common hand and power tools required for furniture assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Ability to lift and move furniture components safely.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Eugene area.
