Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and vigilant Security Guard to join our team at FedEx, stationed at a static post in Fairbanks, AK. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, protecting company assets, and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors. This role requires an individual with an active SIA (Security Industry Authority) license, excellent observational skills, and a proactive approach to security challenges. You will be an integral part of our operations, contributing to the seamless and secure flow of goods and information.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure security.
- Control access to FedEx facilities, verifying credentials and escorting visitors as needed.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, identifying and reporting any security risks or unusual activities.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations, following established protocols and liaising with law enforcement or emergency services.
- Complete incident reports and daily logs accurately and promptly.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to employees and visitors while maintaining a professional security presence.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) License
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar role
- Excellent observational and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Physical fitness to perform duties, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Previous experience in logistics or corporate security environments
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols
- Experience with security systems and technology (CCTV, access control systems)
