Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our remote team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about cybersecurity and eager to specialize in areas related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) within a leading cybersecurity firm. You will work closely with senior analysts and engineers, learning to identify, analyze, and respond to cyber threats, with a particular emphasis on incidents involving AI-driven systems or sophisticated, AI-enhanced attack techniques. This role is ideal for someone looking to launch their career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the protection of our global clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and conduct initial triage and investigation of potential security incidents.
- Assist in analyzing malware, phishing attempts, and other cyber threats with an AI focus.
- Support the development and implementation of security measures to protect AI/ML systems.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Document security incidents, analyses, and procedures accurately and thoroughly.
- Learn and apply various security tools and technologies, including AI-driven security platforms.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance cybersecurity knowledge and skills.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, particularly those related to AI threats and defenses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall security posture.
- Provide support for security audits and compliance initiatives.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), and cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
- Basic knowledge or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work remotely from anywhere in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Prior internship or project experience in a cybersecurity-related role.
- Understanding of common attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
