Job Description
As a Hearing Aid Mold Polisher, you will play a crucial role in the final production stages of custom hearing aid molds. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, a steady hand, and a commitment to producing high-quality, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing molds. You will be responsible for meticulously polishing, shaping, and finishing hearing aid molds to exact specifications, ensuring optimal fit and patient comfort. This is a hands-on role requiring precision and a keen eye for detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Meticulously polish and finish custom hearing aid molds to a high standard, meeting all quality specifications.
- Inspect molds for defects, imperfections, and adherence to established quality standards using visual and tactile methods.
- Utilize specialized tools, machinery, and techniques for precise shaping, smoothing, and buffing of small components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the production team, including mold technicians and quality control, to ensure timely completion of orders and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Perform final quality checks on finished molds before they proceed to packaging and dispatch.
- Identify and promptly report any equipment malfunctions, material inconsistencies, or process issues to supervisory staff.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Required Skills
- Exceptional manual dexterity and fine motor skills, with a steady hand for detailed work.
- High level of attention to detail and precision in executing tasks with small components.
- Ability to work accurately and consistently with intricate items and minute specifications.
- Strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and producing defect-free products.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental lab work, jewelry making, optical lens finishing, or similar precision craft and assembly roles.
- Familiarity with hearing aid components, audiology products, or medical device manufacturing.
- Experience with various polishing techniques, abrasive materials, and specialized hand tools.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant manufacturing, engineering, or craft discipline.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485).
