Job Description
Join FedEx as an Entry Level Shipping and Receiving Clerk with a strong focus on data accuracy and management. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and precise flow of goods within our Warwick facility. You will be responsible for meticulously processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and utilizing our internal systems to track packages and reconcile discrepancies. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or other records.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documenting according to company and regulatory standards.
- Accurately input and update shipping and receiving data into the company's inventory management and tracking systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in shipments or data records, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Operate basic material handling equipment safely, such as pallet jacks (training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role (even non-professional).
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
- Experience using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
