Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Home Health Aide to join our team in McKinney, TX. This vital role involves providing direct patient care in the comfort of their homes, assisting with daily living activities, and offering emotional support to both patients and their families. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to the patient's immediate environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Texas.
- Exceptional empathy, patience, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of end-of-life care principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically within a hospice setting.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
